Membership officer

About the job

QUEST is currently recruiting a membership officer. The position oversees growing the NGO’s membership, collaborating and co-designing initiatives that aim at bringing together our partners and advancing change in education in Europe and beyond. The ideal candidate should be able to anticipate needs, provide information in a timely manner and solve issues autonomously. 

The selected person will work under the supervision of the General Committee and the Coordinator.

Key tasks:

Projects and Partnership administration: 

  • Develop a membership strategy, with the support of the Coordinator
  • Support the enlargement of our network, by reaching out new organisations, explaining the benefits of being part of QUEST and ensuring follow-up
  • Continuously look for ideas and ways of engaging our partnership (with projects ideas,
  • Erasmus+ application, trainings, events, etc etc)
  • Oversee the implementation of membership activities: coordinate and engage members, working groups, organize meetings, gather needs and find ways to enrich the partnership,
  • evaluate progress.
  • Participate in conferences, travels and events (occasional).
  • Oversee the administrative implementation of membership.
  • Guide and supervise volunteers and staff that might help the membership office

Profile

We are looking for a candidate with: 

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in networks/membership based organisation
  • Genuine interest in education and willingness to embrace QUEST vision and values
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, high attention to detail, and good analytical skills 
  • Problem solver and results oriented.
  • Ability to contribute effectively to a team working environment.
  • flexibility
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Fluency in written & spoken English

Conditions

  • Starting date: starts in August/September 2023 
  • This is a full-time position (38 hours per week), based in Brussels; 
  • 4 month contract (CDD) with possibility to be renewed for a longer term.
  • The successful candidate must have the right to live and work in Belgium
  • A monthly salary based on salary scale for our sector (329) coupled with various benefits (lunch vouchers, additional holiday, teleworking benefits, flexible working conditions; telework up to two days a week)
