YEAT (Youth in Equine Assisted Therapy)

Objectives:

Summary:

YEAT project aims to develop the valuable role of youth in equine-assisted therapy practices.

Target Groups:

Activities:

-Learning Exchange Activity in May 2022 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Youth workers, parents, professionals working with children and young people with disabilities will be invited to participate in this mobility. The aim will be to gain knowledge and share experiences about the usefulness of horse-assisted therapy.

 

-Youth in Equine-Assisted Therapy Guidelines.

As a result of the project, this handbook contains methodologies for creating and developing a horse-assisted therapy program with youth participants, a youth volunteer program, methodologies in different types of horse-assisted therapy, tips, recommendations, stories and a comparative analysis of good practices in Bulgaria, Europe and the world. This is a useful tool for variety of people interested in the subject and it is available from 2023 for free on the websites of all our partners.

 

-During spring 2023 in every partner country a YEAT event has been organized in which participants will be able to learn more about the project and the Guidelines will be presented.

 

Partnership:

The partner Countries are: Bulgaria, France, Italy and Belgium.

-Association for You from Bulgaria: dedicated to increase and to contribute to international exchange among young people all over the globe and to contribute for intercultural understanding, tolerance and positive change on a personal and public level. We aim to improve the lives of young people in a disadvantaged situation by involving them in a variety of programs and projects for leisure activities, trainings, and seminars both in Bulgaria and abroad.

 

-Paint and Quarter Horse foundation from Bulgaria: it started in 2017, becoming the first licensed organization for animal therapy in the country. They provide opportunities for young people with disabilities and their families to benefit from therapeutic horse-riding and spending time in nature.

 

-Luck33 from France: this organization deals with non-formal learning. Organizes youth exchanges for disadvantaged students through theater and arts.

-Brussels Outdoor Schools from Belgium: it is an organization with an innovative teaching approach. It was established in 2017. Their mission is to restore children’s contact with nature and to support the individual qualities of each of them.

 

-Creativi108 non-profit organization from Italy.
