Hello everyone! đź‘‹
We, Andreia, Elena, Pamela, and Sara A, are the new volunteers of QUEST!Â
Our first month has already flown by, filled with learning and fun activities. 🤗
The initial two weeks of onboarding introduced us to QUEST’s philosophy, its sociocratic organisation, the working of each sociocratic circle and our specific roles within them. But as I said, those two weeks were also packed with activities. We had our first Spice Coffee, a regular gathering of the entire QUEST team to learn and exchange on a current topic. This time, the topic was Feminism and Education, and it offered us a great chance to connect with the entire team <3 Gabi took us to visit the European Parliament and the European Union Museum. The girls also organised a “Fun facts about Brussels” trivia game (Pamela and Martina won). We also had some time to journal and exchange about our goals and objectives for our volunteering time at QUEST. We even had a yoga session led by Samantha after our first general meeting!!
Once the training ended, we jumped directly into our circles because we had multiple deadlines.Â
Elena hopped into Communication and Membership to help with the first in-person event of QUEST!! (she will tell you more about it on the October blog), and she made a nice banner and visuals.Â
Pamela jumped directly into an article about LGTBQ+ rights which you can already read on our website and she also went to her first event about children’s voices through play.Â
Andreia and Sara dived directly into project submission, so they had the chance to write, proofread, and submit a project.Â
A hectic and hands-on month, but we enjoyed every activity and presentation!!
