Areas of work
YOUDEX
YOUDEX will engage young Europeans who have practised democracy, since the early stages, in different spheres of their lives, such as their families, schools and local communities. The project will co-create with them a safe digital space for them to share their personal stories and experiences of being active participants in democratic societies.

Target
Young people aged 14–25 with everyday experiences of democracy in families, democratic schools and civic spaces.
A space for young voices
YOUDEX’s general objective is to provide youth with tools and spaces to collect and share lived experiences of democracy, empowering peers to learn, enjoy and enforce their participation rights in democratic societies.
Collect and share hands-on experiences of EU youth active-citizenship
Support youth to communicate their democratic experiences, with training on digital-storytelling & changemaking
Empower youth with tools to understand their rights in family, schools and societal settings
Connect young Europeans with diverse backgrounds & experiences of lived-democracy
Foster safe, accessible digital spaces for youth to express themselves and exercise participation rights
Promote a pluralistic approach to democracy that reflects youth interests and specific characteristics

01 Speak up
This activity will equip young people with tools and guidance to develop oral storytelling skills through digital media, such as podcasts and interviews. It aims to strengthen their capacity to communicate personal and collective narratives in meaningful and creative ways.

02 Youth in Action
In this phase, young participants will take the lead in co-creating the project’s podcast. They will decide on the topics they wish to explore and begin collecting testimonies from their peers, fostering a participatory and youth-led content creation process.

03 Hear me Out
This activity will take place during the IDEC@EUDEC conference in August, an international gathering of approximately 800 advocates for children’s rights. The YOUDEX youth will participate in creative workshops and share their experiences through various artistic expressions, including drawing, photography, and crafts.

04 Read me loud
