Hello, hello! š
So we are at the end of Octoberā¦and a lot of things have happened this month. But donāt worry, we will update you:Ā
First QUEST in-person event!
Ecovillages and Education: exploring Skills to Live and Grow Together was the first in-person event organised and hosted by QUEST, where we, the volunteers, were actively involved.
This gathering featured a series of talks, including one by Sophie Rabhi, a pioneer in eco-villages focused on education in France. We also had a presentation from the European Commission (DG EAC) and enjoyed hearing from local eco-villages who introduced us to their projects.
Later, a series of workshops gave attendees the chance to put into practice other topics related to community and sustainable lifestyles.Ā
We also had specific tasks as volunteers:
Pamela and Elena were in charge of the bar, while Sara was helping Samantha with the technical aspects of the conference, and Andreia was at the entrance greeting everyone that came š¤
And the best part isā¦ the event was a great success! But that is not all š
ESC training week
Andreia and Elena went to the ESC onboarding trainingā¦and they had a lot of fun! š„³
The training took place in Halle, a small town near Brussels. During this five-day training, they got to meet other 50 volunteers living across Belgium, learn more about the country and its culture, and enjoy some fun activities.Ā
One of the activities was creating a poster about our organisation, and as QUESTās newest team members, Andreia made a pretty good one! š
Alsoā¦ more news!
Pamela and Andreia attended a Gender-Responsive Climate Action training. The focus was on how children, especially girls, are disproportionately impacted by climate change. š³
Additionally, Sara and Andreia attended a conference regarding the Access to Sexual and Reproductive Rights for People with Intellectual Disabilities
In short, this month has been packed with exciting updates, and we volunteers have been pretty busy! Looking forward to seeing what November awaits us š¤
