DARE (Decolonial Approaches through Reflexivity & Exchange) aims to equip youth workers from across Europe with the knowledge, awareness, and practical tools to recognise and dismantle colonial legacies, whiteness, and systemic inequalities in their daily practice.

From a youth work perspective, our goal is to provide a structured space where participants can critically examine how privilege, eurocentrism, and structural racism influence youth work organisations, decision-making structures, and international cooperation.

Why this toolkit ?

Everyone has the right to be heard, to be treated with dignity, and to grow up in communities free from racism and discrimination. Meaningful youth participation needs safe-brave spaces, practical tools, trust and opportunities for youth workers to critically reflect on how colonial legacies, whiteness and systemic inequalities shape their organisations and their practice.

This toolkit is the result of a 5-day training bringing together youth workers from Belgium, Greece, Italy and Spain, learning and putting into practice decolonial and anti-oppressive approaches Here, you will find clear information and tools to learn about colonial legacies, whiteness and systemic inequalities, and how to put decolonial and anti-oppressive approaches into practice through step-by-step instructions, tips and feedback from the youth workers who already took the training.

VOLT Documentary

The VOLT documentary follows the learning journey of three schools that came together through the VOLT project. The project supports teachers and students with tools to study local volcanoes from a cross sector perspective, including historical, geographical, geological, and societal dimensions. It also promotes new pedagogical practices such as Inquiry Based Learning.
