Meet the YOU-CARE project addressing eco-anxiety in youth

Despite recent breakthroughs, the current and future effects of climate change on mental health remain underappreciated and under-studied. Young people are the most affected, and there is an urgent need to deploy spaces where they can play an active part in researching and grasping the diverse emotions triggered by the triple planetary crisis – so as to move from anxiety to agentivity.

Nothing about the Planet’s Future without youth

For the last two years, we worked with young people across 5 European countries who are living through the reality of the socio-ecological crisis. Using Youth-Led Participatory Action Research (YPAR), they took a deep dive into the emotions that come when their lives and futures are taken out of their hands, and figured out how to turn this into collective action and empowerement.
